Miss Tatjana

Teacher

Since the age of 4, the performing arts has inspired me to pursue a career in dance and extend this passion as a dance teacher. Through my love of dance, I realised how the expressive art form can promote a positive change and shape a community. I am trained in tap, ballet, jazz, musical theatre, lyrical, contemporary, and hip-hop. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Laws/Arts at the University of Newcastle as I am passionate about social justice and promoting cultural awareness through my dance education. I am also a recipient of the 2021 Ma and Morley scholarship at UON.

My dance training began at HVT Studio of the Performing Arts under the tutelage of Kristy Mansfield. At the age of 6 I began competing in tap solos at eisteddfods, showcases, and international competitions where I was awarded numerous championships and scholarships. In 2017 I was a part of the Australian Dance Team and competed in South Africa at the Commonwealth Dance Championships, receiving two gold medals. I also competed in Germany at the World Tap Dance Championships. In 2017 I was a recipient of the 100 years Pullar’s tap scholarship at the Abermain eisteddfod. I was awarded the L.G.T.D.A eisteddfod tap scholarship in 2018. During the completion of my HSC in 2020, I was trained by former Tap Dog, Thomas, Egan, where I was a member of the Tap project for one year. In 2021 I was invited to learn the ‘Tap Affect’ show as a secondment for the first ever premiere of the show in Sydney.

I completed my secondary education at the Hunter School of the Performing Arts where I was a part of musicals, Starstruck performances, Hunter Dance Festival, Sharp Short Dance, showcases, and dance ensembles. In 2019 and 2020, I was the choreographer and member of the HSPA Tap ensemble where I began teaching high school students tap dance. My ensemble performed in Parramatta at the Sharp Short Dance Festival and Hunter Dance Festival in 2019.

I enjoy all styles of dance and have continued to train and enrich my skills by becoming a member of the UON Dance Club and undertaking dance classes by Anthony Morigerato. At UON Dance Club, I enjoy socialising with my friends and improving the dominant style of dance, hip-hop. In my free time, I like to swim, sing, and create content for my social media accounts.

I have completed all 15 levels of the L.G.T.D.A tap syllabus, as well as my Junior and Senior teacher tap exams. I also completed R.A.D classical ballet training up to the Intermediate level. I attained my WWCC and completed my first aid training.

I view teaching younger students as an invaluable experience and look forward to inspiring younger generations at United Dance and promoting creativity through dance. I am so keen to meet you all!
