Madeleine Price

Studio Owner & Director

I started dancing as soon as I could walk and was trained in all styles of dance including jazz, hip hop, funk, lyrical, contemporary, tap, classical ballet, cheerleading and tumbling.

My training took place in some of the Hunter’s and Newcastle’s most prestigious dance schools, under the guidance of Australia’s most knowledgeable and well-known dance teachers and choreographers including Debbie Ellis, choreographer from SYTYCD Australia.

During my training, I won multiple tap and jazz championships at local dance eisteddfods and had the opportunity to dance at the Sydney Opera House for Sydney Eisteddfod’s Jazz Finals 3 years in a row, coming home with 2x second place awards. I completed up to level 10 of the Glenn Wood Tap Syllabus and RAD Intermediate Classical Ballet exam.

I started assistant teaching from the age of 12yrs, started teaching my own classes at the age of 14yrs, taught dance for school sport at Maitland High School and choreographed their Hunter Valley Dance Festival routines in 2010 and 2011. I was accepted as a featured dancer for Star Struck in tap, hip hop and lyrical 3 years in a row. I was selected as a student choreographer for Star Struck in 2011 and choreographed award winning routines for regional, state and national dance competitions for United Dance and other local dance studios.

I am registered with the Australian Teachers Of Dance and have completed courses and masterclasses with Studio Expansion and a variety of Clint Salter’s studio owner programs. I have been featured in many dance photo shoots, performances and was successful in auditioning and gaining a place on the team for an Oral B commercial in 2011.

Since moving on from dancing myself, I have completed components and modules of a bachelor of secondary teaching specialising in PDHPE at Newcastle University, completed my Certificate IV in Dance Teaching & Management and have also completed Module 1 (level 1 to 6) of Acrobatic Arts Certification.

I am very passionate about providing a holistic approach to dance education and a trusted support network for students and parents of the Hunter Valley and Port Stephens areas. I always have a kind and nurturing approach to teaching and directing and am very values driven when it comes to making decisions and shaping the studio for our dance families. I am passionate about helping create the best possible atmosphere for our dance families, while being the best positive role model for our students. I believe that a strong balance between teaching correct technique, structure and creative freedom is what helps shape well rounded dancers and students.

I love sunny spring and summer days, picnics, playing with my dog, the beach and cocktails with my girlfriends. I love to get hooked on a good book when I get the chance to read. I’m a big sweet tooth and love chocolate!

I have completed a range of certificate training including anaphylaxis, WWCC, child protection training and my First Aid Certificate.
